The Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation was established November 29, 1999. The Inaugural dinner was held on November 29, 1999 to honor Otho Davis, Head Trainer for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1973-1995, for his lifetime achievements and legendary career. It was at this time Otho requested that the net proceeds go towards
a
scholarship in his name for aspiring undergraduate students who are studying sports marketing, sports medicine or a related field.
Since the inaugural dinner, the foundation has raised over $100,000 in net proceeds. Otho's legacy will continue as the foundation officers and board will continue to raise funds through contributions, donations, and fundraisers.
The Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation will award scholarships annually in accordance with the wishes of Otho Davis. He expressed the following desires and qualifications, which constitute the policy of our fund.
A
scholarship will be awarded to a deserving person, in an undergraduate or medical school program of study. The area of concentration must be in the field of either sports medicine, sports marketing or a related field. The award will be based upon an overall review of merit and financial need by the members of the foundation Board of Trustees.
